Tanzania has one of the youngest populations in the world. Nearly 65% of its citizens are under the age of 25. This is not simply a demographic statistic — it is a missional reality. The soul of this nation is being formed right now, in the universities, secondary schools, and streets of our 36 regions. And the Church has been called to intercede for it.
This seven-day guide is designed to give shape and Scripture to your prayers. Use it alone, with your family, or with your church fellowship. Each day focuses on a different dimension of Tanzania's youth — their faith, their education, their mental health, their leaders, and their calling.
Day 1 — Salvation
Scripture: Romans 10:13–15 | Pray that young Tanzanians who have never heard the Gospel will encounter it — through CASFETA chapters, TAYOMI programmes, faithful local churches, and the witness of their peers. Pray specifically for university campuses where secular ideologies are strong.
How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? — Romans 10:14
Day 2 — Protection
Scripture: Psalm 91 | Pray for the physical, emotional, and spiritual protection of Tanzania's young people. Pray against addiction, sexual exploitation, gender-based violence, and the deception of false teaching. Pray for parents and guardians to be attentive and present.
Day 3 — Leadership
Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:12 | Pray for the young leaders within TAYOMI — the student EXCOM, the chapter chairmen, the regional coordinators. Pray for wisdom beyond their years, for integrity under pressure, and for mentors who will walk with them faithfully.
Days 4 through 7 — covering education, mental health, unity across denominations, and Tanzania's calling as a sending nation — are available as a downloadable PDF from the TAYOMI office. Contact us through the website to request a copy for your church or school.
